Daybreak Daily

Clean Air

You heard Tony Arranaga's report on Daybreak this morning -- The American Lung Association's Annual Report gives Maricopa County an *F* in terms of air quality.

Read the story here.

Yes, we know, our air can be FILTHY.

We've seen the brown cloud and know all about the pollution and ozone alerts and warnings.

But, the report also goes on to say the *number* of days we spend with unhealthy air is going down.

So, it seems our efforts, like carpooling and reducing the number of daily trips we take, is making an impact.

But, each one of us can do more -- to bring up our grade.

So, this has gotten me to thinking about ways I can help eliminate the valley's brown cloud and clear the air.

I'm getting rid of my gardener -- who uses gas powered lawn mowers...edgers and blowers -- and taking the job over myself.

I don't have a lot of grass -- so, I think I can manage.

What will I use?

Today, I'm marching down to a home improvement store and buying a manual push mower with a grass catcher -- no gas...no pollution.

I figure I'll save some money...help the environment...and, get some exercise!

With that...I'd like to hear what YOU are doing to help reduce air pollution.

Please post what you're doing -- or plan to do...and, maybe we'll read it on air during Daybreak!
