Yesterday, Tony Arranaga gave us a report on how city officials are now using feeder fish in swimming pools -- to eat up mosquito larvae in green pools.
The Valley's green pool problem, in many cases, is a result of widespread home foreclosures.
Not only are people leaving behind trashed homes and green pools -- they're also leaving behind their pets.
And, now I have one of them.
You see, Tony found a kitten in the backyard of the foreclosed home he was at -- and, brought it back to me.
I took one look at the precious thing -- and, it was love at first sight!
I now have one hyper puppy...two cats and a kitten who needs special attention.
At the rate I'm going, I'll never get any sleep! :-)
My daughter has named the kitten Bella, because it's so beautiful.
We're assuming it's a girl.
She has calico colors and big blue eyes.
She also has two extra toes on each of her front paws -- that just makes her extra special. :-)
I took her to Petco yesterday -- where she weighed in at less than a pound!
When we got home, she gobbled up a can of kitten food and lapped up water.
Poor thing was starving!
She's very alert and playful -- so, I'm hoping, despite having been abandoned, she's healthy.
I'll find out at the vet on Monday.
At any rate, right now valley shelters are inundated with kittens and puppies.
So, if you can adopt, I encourage you to do so.

Rescue animals make the best pets -- because they're so grateful for your care.
